“Ohio’s
best days are ahead.” Appalachian
small-business owner invites voters to write her in — and names Patrick
Manley as her running mate for Lieutenant Governor. MALTA, Ohio — June 10, 2026 — Heather Hill — a small-business
owner, foster mother, and lifelong Ohioan from the hills of Appalachia —
today announced an energetic write-in campaign for Governor of Ohio, inviting
voters across the state to write her name in on November 3 and join a campaign
built on optimism, hard work, and the belief that Ohio’s best days are still
ahead. “I love this state, and I believe in the people who call it home,”
Hill said. “From our small towns to our big cities, Ohioans are some of the
hardest-working, biggest-hearted people anywhere — and they deserve a
governor who shows up, listens, and gets to work for them. I’m running
because I know what Ohio can be, and I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and
build it together.” Hill’s campaign is grounded in her own Ohio story. She grew up in
Appalachia, where faith, family, and hard work were a way of life, and went
on to build three businesses in her home state. She and her husband, Darrin,
have spent more than two decades opening their home as foster parents, and
she previously served as president of her local school board — experience she
says taught her to listen first, solve problems, and put families ahead of
politics. “I’ve met a payroll, raised a family, and worked alongside the
people of this state my whole life,” Hill said. “I’m a working-class
Republican running for every working Ohioan, and I’ll bring that same
common-sense, get-it-done spirit to the governor’s office every single day.” Her agenda focuses on real relief for Ohio families: easing the
burden of property taxes while keeping public schools strong, standing up for
parents in their children’s education, and making sure every community —
rural, suburban, and urban alike — has a genuine shot at opportunity. A running mate ready to get to work
After meeting with a number of accomplished and committed Ohioans,
Hill is proud to announce that her running mate for Lieutenant Governor is Patrick
Manley — a small-business owner, licensed architect, college instructor,
and former Republican party-endorsed candidate for the Ohio House of
Representatives. Manley pairs strong conservative values with real experience in both
the private sector and state government — exactly the kind of partner Hill
says she wants by her side to get things done for Ohioans who need solutions
now, not empty promises. “Heather Hill is the right person at the right time — optimistic,
tireless, and completely devoted to the people of this state,” Manley said.
“I’ve spent my career working with people from all walks of life to assist
them in solving problems — not promising miracles. Communities, families and
individuals know the problems because they live them everyday.
They also know the solutions. They don’t need elected officials telling them
what needs to be done. They need support, they need an advocate
and they need someone to clear the path to those solutions. I can’t think of
a better mission. I’m honored to join Heather, and I’m ready to get to work.” Together, Hill and Manley say they are offering Ohioans a hopeful,
hard-working ticket — rooted in the state’s small towns, small businesses,
and strong communities, and focused squarely on building a brighter future
for every corner of Ohio. How to support the campaign
Because Heather’s name will not be printed on the ballot, supporters
can stand with her by writing in “Heather Hill” for Governor on
Election Day, November 3. In the weeks ahead, the campaign will roll out a
friendly, statewide effort to make sure every supporter knows exactly how to
cast a valid write-in vote. To volunteer, donate, or learn more, visit FIGHTLIKEHILL.COM
